This is my last xanga post ever.

That's right folks, I am officially retiring from xanga.  It's just that xanga is dead and no one even uses it anymore...it's just a place to go to waste time.  Gross.

I had this huge post written out, but my internet lost connection halfway through and I lost everything.  Fucking internet connection...

But anyway, since this is my last xanga post, I've decided to post something that's actually worth reading.  Let's start off with a retrospect.

So, summer has come and gone, and I can definitely say that this summer has been the best summer of my life.  I've grown up a lot, I've changed a lot, and I know that most of my changes have been for the better.  Over the past few years, all of us have grown up and changed a huge deal, but some people have regrets and wish that they could have done things differently along the way.  Well, I can honestly say that I have none.  If I had done things differently, then I might not be where I am right now, and I kinda like it here.  I'm extremely happy with the choices I've made, and I'm perfectly content with where I am right now :)

Looking back on high school, it's kinda ridiculous how utterly pointless it seems.  I mean, the only cherished memories I have are memories from band and travelling to awesome places with my friends.  And out off all the classes that I took within those four years, I only gained from two of them...Spanish 4 with Sra. Torbett and AP English with Jolley.  Everything else was just a waste of time, but I guess that's life.

I've already forgotten a lot of people that graduated with the 06 class, and graduation was only three months ago.  In a way, that's kind of a good thing :)  At least I've kept in touch with the people I wanted to keep in touch with, and I know that might change soon because a lot of people left town just last weekend, but still, I'm very happy with the way this summer has ended.  There's been very little drama (all of which was caused by one person), and that's much better than previous summers where everyone started drama over pointless high school bullshit.  I'm glad that most of us have grown up, but still, there's a few people out there that are starting college with a high school state of mind.  I'm glad I'm not one of them!  :)

Now, a look to the future.

In a way, today was the last day of summer.  Preview starts tomorrow and lasts till Saturday, and then classes officially begin Monday.  Preview is basically just a huge party for the students before classes start, so it's nothing strenuous or even serious, but I'm excited to go just so I can meet new people and hang out with the friends I made at orientation.  Even though I'm excited about preview, it's nothing close to the excitement I'm feeling for Monday.  I feel like I haven't used my mind since May, and I'm eager to go to my classes because I'm really interested in everything I've signed up for this semester.  I'll be busy, but I can already tell I'm gonna have an awesome first semester of college!

Ah, this is such a good feeling.  I'm getting ready to dive head first into my future.  I've been waiting a long time for this.  Who knows where I'll be next year...UT?  MTSU?  It doesn't matter right now, because all I'm worried about at the moment is getting through my first year at ETSU successfully.  It's gonna be an awesome year!

I'm very happy with my life right now

And that's all folks.

So Much Shouting, So Much Laughter

Okay, here are some things I wanna do before I die.

  • Skydive into the Grand Canyon
  • Visit at least three South American countries (Argentina, Colombia and Peru are the ones I wanna visit the most) and adapt temporarily to the local customs.
  • Learn all of the important European languages (Spanish is almost covered, all I need now are French, Portuguese, Italian, German, and Dutch.  Those are all the important ones I guess)
  • Date three girls at the same time without any of them knowing
  • Meet someone with the middle name Parker and the last name Hayes.  I saw a dude on facebook named Parker Hayes and I tried adding him as a friend but he was a complete douche about it.  Oh well, he was part of a high school network, which means that I had the name before him.  What now, bitch?
  • Live outside of the US for at least a year.
  • Hug a random stranger.
  • Attend at least three Ani Difranco shows.  She tours all the freakin' time, but she hardly ever comes close to here.
  • Crash a wedding (or some other really formal gathering) wearing a t-shirt and swimming trunks.
  • Write a novel (or at the very least, an article)
  • Attend Oktoberfest in Munich
  • While I'm over there, I should probably go ahead and drive on the Autobahn.
  • Find the tallest roller coaster in the US and ride it 5 times in a row.
  • Give half of my paycheck to a charity, anonymously.
  • Go to Carnaval in Rio and go absolutely crazy (that could also count for the South American countries).
  • Bungee jump
  • Teach someone how to read music or how to play the sax.
  • Drive coast to coast across the country with only one other person.
  • Buy a one way ticket going anywhere and just head off for a while and see what happens
  • Attend a huge sporting event, preferably the world cup;

That's about it for now.  There are a lot more though.

Ani Difranco is pregnant.

I found out a while ago, I don't know I'm just now writing about it on here.

But Ani is awesome, and her kid is gonna be the most awesome kid ever born.

Here's a pic of her in her honour.

She's just so cool.

But enough about her.

I love this picture.  Every time I look at it, I bust out laughing, kinda like that Nickleback song.  And I always love me some Dréa B.  First of all, I appear to be on about 10 different kinds of drugs, and it's like Dréa knows it but she's cool with it because that's just how she rolls.  Goodness...

Classes begin in three weeks, and there's a LOT of stuff that needs to be done before then.

For the most part, it's been a pretty quiet summer, but things are getting ready to get krazy.

EDIT: I'm pretty tired of summer by now.  I just want school to start so I can go ahead and dive head first into college.  I mean sure, I have 18 hours this semester (might kill me) and I'll have very little down time after August 28th, so I should probably enjoy these next three weeks while I can, but we've already been waiting too long.  School cannot start soon enough as far as I'm concerned.  If anything else, I just want school to start so I can bury myself in studying and classes and working hard so I won't have to deal with all of the bullshit that's going on right now.

So yeah, I dropped jazz ensemble with Mr. C and I'm taking Japanese instead, but that's ok, because I'm planning on doing community band once school actually starts, so I'll still be involved with music.  And I'll do band either next year or  next semester.

Ha, I'm gonna go straight from my Spanish class to Japanese.  How grand is that!?

Oh, and I'm gonna study abroad in Spain some time soon.  Whores.

College will be fun, I just hope I don't die from having too many hours...

Parker
